Supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Stanislaus County.
the brief
Creating a world free from violence
After decades of providing supportive services and advocacy for survivors, HAVEN changed its name to reflect its expanded mission to serve ALL survivors, regardless of age or gender. The organization sought a complete rebrand to better reflect its inclusive mission and serve the community's evolving needs.
the approach
Real, Human, Relatable
My role was to develop a refreshed visual identity and messaging framework that captured HAVEN's expanded focus and resonated with a broader audience. They sought a brand that reflected their equity-focused, human, and relatable approach to direct service. This included a new logo, look and feel, and brand guidelines to honor their legacy while positioning them for the future across print, web, and social media. Deliverables also included a marketing campaign to announce the organization’s new name and rebranding.
“We’re not trying to change individuals so they can be safe today; we’re trying to change the WORLD so EVERYONE can be safe for all tomorrow.”
– May Rico, Executive Director

Facing the Future
The rebrand launched successfully, receiving positive feedback from the community and stakeholders alike. The new logo incorporated elements from the original logo, acknowledging the organization’s past while looking ahead to the future. A comprehensive brand guide and user-friendly Canva templates empowered the organization to communicate its mission more effectively and enhance its visibility in the community. The refreshed brand now serves as a powerful tool for advocacy and outreach, aligning the organization’s image with its impactful work.
